Pickling dills
Fresh dill
Vinegar
Regular iodized salt
Peppercorns and garlic

Brine:
1 Quart white distilled vinegar
2 quarts water
3/4 cups salt (not pickling salt)
Bring to boil; sustain boil for 5 minutes.

Stuff sterilized jars with pickles standing on end. Add slivered garlic or peppercorns as desired. Cut stems off dill and add to the pickles. Pour over hot brine, leaving 1/4" headroom. Run a knife down the inside sides of the jar to remove bubbles. Seal top and cool to refrigerate.

Lasts several months in the fridge.

Recipe is from my dad, Max. Everyone remembers Pop's dill pickles, especially the neighbor kids who he would pass them out to after school.
