1 1/2 sticks butter, softened
1 c. sugar
2 eggs
1 t. vanilla
2 1/2 c. flour
1 t. baking powder
1 t. salt

Frosting:
1 stick butter, softened
4 1/2 c. powdered sugar
1 t. vanilla
5-6 T. milk

Directions:
Directions:
Preheat oven to 400.

In a large bowl, cream butter and sugar until light and fluffy. Beat in eggs and vanilla.

In small bowl combine flour, baking powder and salt.

Gradually add the flour mixture to the creamed mixture and mix well. Cover and refrigerate 1 hour or until easy enough to handle.

On a well-floured surface, roll dough to 1/4" thickness. Cut with desired shaped cookie cutters and place 2" apart on greased baking sheets.
Bake 6-8 minutes or until set. Cool. Frost.

For frosting: In large bowl, beat butter until light and fluffy. Add powdered sugar, vanilla and enough milk to make a thin frosting.
