1 cup white sugar
1 cup brown sugar
1 cup margarine (2 sticks)
2 eggs
1 tsp vanilla
1 ½ cup flour
1 tsp baking soda
6 oz chocolate chips
½ cup pecans or other nuts
3 cups oatmeal (1 minute oatmeal)

Directions:
Directions:
Cream shortening and sugars, add eggs and vanilla. Add sifted dry ingredients, then chocolate chips, nuts, and oatmeal. Spoon cookies onto cookie sheet and bake at 350°F about 10 minutes. Bake until dry but not brown. May chill dough in refrigerator for a couple hours before baking to prevent cookies from spreading out too thin.
