2 cups Stirred Flour
1/2 tsp. Baking Soda
1/2 tsp. Salt
1/2 cup Cocoa
1/2 cup Shortening
1 tsp. Vanilla
1 cup Sugar
1 Egg
1/2 cup Milk
20 Marshmallows cut in half

Chocolate Icing:
1 1/2 cups sifted Powdered Sugar
2 tbsp. Cocoa
Dash of Salt
3 tbsp. Scorched Milk with 1 tbsp. Butter, heated
1 tbsp. Shortening

Cookies:
Combine flour, baking soda, salt and cocoa. In a separate bowl, cream the shortening, vanilla, sugar and egg together. Blend in dry ingredients and milk. Drop batter from a spoon about 2 inches apart on an ungreased baking sheet.

Bake at 350 degrees for 8 minutes.

Remove cookies from oven and place one marshmallow half on each cookie. Return to the oven to bake for 1 minute. Cool for 1 or 2 minutes and drop a spoonful of icing on each marshmallow and spread around the cookie.

Chocolate Icing:
Mix dry ingredients together. Blend in shortening to the dry ingredient mixture. Heat the milk and butter, let it cool slightly and slowly beat into the mixture until you get the desired consistency (you might not use all of the milk and butter mixture). Let cool for 1 minute before spreading on the cookies.
