3 c. sugar
1/2 c. of water
3 tsp. butter
2 tsp. baking soda
1 c. white Karo syrup
3 c. raw peanuts
1 tsp. salt

Directions:
Directions:
Boil sugar, Karo and water until thread spins. Then, add peanuts and stir continuously. Cook until it turns a brownish gold. Remove from heat, add butter, salt, and baking soda. Pour onto a buttered cutting board to cool. Break into pieces and store in container.

My Granny lived on a farm in Texas. They raised peanuts as one of the crops they sold. She always made peanut brittle when they harvested them. It was a special treat when I was a kid. This is her recipe.
