11-12 slices of bacon (approximately 3/4lbs)
1 medium onion
5 1/2 cups tomato juice
3 Tbsp sugar
3 cups macaroni
Salt and pepper to taste

Directions:
In a large skillet fry bacon until crispy enough to crumble, but do not crumble yet. Remove bacon. Dice onion and place in skillet of bacon grease. Cook onions until they are translucent (clear). Crumble bacon and add to the onions. Then add tomato juice and simmer for 15 minutes. Add sugar. Salt and pepper to taste.

While mixture is simmering, bring water to a boil in a 2 quart pan. Add macaroni. Bring back to a boil and cook for 6 minutes.

Drain macaroni. Place macaroni in 2 1/2 quart baking dish. Add liquid mixture to macaroni. Bake covered at 350º for approximately 10 minutes.
