2 pkg. (18 oz.) Devil's Food Cake Mix
4 eggs, lightly beaten
2/3 c. oil

Filling
1 pkg. (8 oz.) cream cheese, softened
1.2 c. butter
3-4 c. powered (10X) sugar
1/2 tsp. vanilla
food coloring (optional)

Directions:
Directions:
Beat mixes, eggs and oil. Roll into 1" balls. Place on ungreased cookie sheet. Flattened slightly. Bake at 350º for 8-10 minutes. Cool.

Beat cream cheese and butter; add 10X sugar and vanilla. Mix until smooth. Tint with food coloring, if desired. Spread on flat part of cookie, top with another cookie.

A friend from work gave this cookie recipe to me years ago and it is a favorite everywhere I take them. Fancy enough for a wedding (make the cookies slightly smaller for those occasions), festive enough for the holidays (match the food coloring to the holiday), and fun enough for a birthday party.
