2 lbs. Great Northern Beans (soaked in)
3 qts. water overnite & drain.
1/2 c. chopped onion
6 oz. salt pork
1/3 c. molasses
1/2 clove garlic (optional)
3 tsp. dry mustard
1/4 c. catsup/ketchup (can sub. tomato soup)
1 c. brown sugar
1/2 tsp. celery salt (Gram doesn't use this)
4 tsp. salt when nearly done.

Soak bean overnite in 3 qts water and then drain. Add 2 qts. fresh water and bring to boil, then simmer for 5 min.
Stir in: 1/2 c. chopped onion, 6 oz. salt pork, 1/3 c. molasses, 1/2 clove garlic (optional), 3 tsp. dry mustard, 1/4 c. ketchup or tomato soup, 1 c. brown sugar, 1/2 tsp. celery salt (Gram doesn't use this). Add 4 tsp. salt when nearly done or season to taste.
Bake at 300º for 7 hrs. (Gram uses a high oven so it takes less time.)
Add water during baking time if necessary and stir once in awhile.
