1 pkg Chocolate cake mix
Eggs, see cake mix box for number
Vegetable Oil, see cake mix box for amount
1 lg package Chocolate pudding mix, NOT instant (the 8 serving size)
1 qt Milk
2 containers Cool Whip( 6 or 8 oz size)
2-3 Kit Kat Candy bars, crushed

Directions:
Directions:
Prepare chocolate cake according to package directions, using an 8" round pan.
Prepare chocolate pudding according to package directions.
Place pudding in a bowl, cover with plastic wrap, and cool.
Thaw Cool Whip as directed.

To assemble: Use a 1/12- 2 qt trifle bowl. If unavailable, use a clear glass bowl of the same size. Choose something attractive or decorative.
Split one layer of the cake in half, crosswise. (The other layer is NOT needed for this recipe.)
Place one of the cut cake layers in the bottom of the bowl. Cover with half of the cooked pudding.
Sprinkle with half of the crushed candy bars.
Cover with half of the Cool Whip.
Repeat the process, reserving some of the candy to decorate the top.
Loosely cover the top of the trifle with plastic wrap.
Refrigerate until serving time.
