1/2 c. butter
1/4 c. sugar
1 egg yolk slightly beaten
1 c. unsifted flour (all purpose) plus 1 tbsp flour
1 unbeaten egg white
3/4 c. finely chopped brazil or filbert nuts
1/2 tsp. baking powder (sift with flour)

Directions:
Directions:
Cream butter well. Add sugar and cream well. Add yolk and beat again. Stir in flour until dough is smooth. Between palms form dough into 3/4" balls. Drop each into unbeaten egg white. Roll in nuts. Place on greased cookie sheet and flatten with bottom of tumbler. Bake 5 minutes at 300ºF. Remove from oven and with thumb or thimble make depression in center. Return to oven and bake 15 minutes longer. When cold or ready to use, fill depression with tart jelly or jam. Red currant jelly, raspberry jam and apricot conserve are all excellent.
