1 - 2 chopped onions
1 can red kidney beans
2 shakes red pepper flakes
1 Tbl. shortening
1 Tbl. Butter
4-8 cups water
1/2 head of chopped cabbage
large bunch of kale
4 potatoes
1 lb. linguica

Directions:
Directions:
Sauté onion in olive oil a few minutes- add kidney beans and water and boil. Add salt and pepper to taste with the red pepper flakes, butter and shortening. Cook for a few minutes and add kale and cabbage. Add more water if necessary. Add linguica and potatoes and cook for a while. This recipe is great made a day ahead.
