1cup shortening
1cup sugar
1cup packed brown sugar
2eggs
1tsp. Vanilla
2cups flour
2cups old fashioned oats
1tsp baking powder
1tsp baking soda
1/2tap salt
2cups flaked coconut
1cup chopped walnuts

Directions:
Directions:
In a large mixing bowl, cream the shortening and sugars. Add eggs one at a time beating well after each addition. Beat in vanilla. Combine flour, oats, baking powder, baking soda, and salt. Gradually add to the cream mixture and mix well. Stir in the coconut and walnuts.
Drop by rounded tablespoons 3inches apart onto greased cookie sheets ..flatten lightly.
Bake 350 degrees11 to 14 minutes or golden brown. Cool 2 minutes before removing to wire rack.
Store in airtight container
