1/2 lb butter room temperature
1/2 lb margarine room temperature
1/4 to 1/2 tsp vanilla

1 cup icing sugar
2 3/4 cups flour
1/2 cup cornstarch

Optional: red and green maraschino cherries, cut up for decoration

Directions:
Directions:
Preheat oven to 350º
Whip butter, margarine and vanilla together in a large bowl with electric mixer.
Add icing sugar and whip until mixed
Add small amounts of flour at a time and whip until blended.
Add the cornstarch and whip again.

Drop by teaspoons on parchment lined baking sheet. If desired, decorate with cut up maraschino cherries.

Bake until the edges of the cookies turn light brown.
