1 c. butter, softened
1 c. Brown sugar1
1/2 c. White sugar
1/2 c. All bran or ground flaxseed
2 eggs
1 tbsp. vanilla extract
2 c. flour
1 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. cinnamon
1/2 tsp. salt
2 c. semi-sweet chocolate chips
1 c. Chopped pecans (optional)

Preheat oven to 375º.line 2 cookie sheets with parchment paper.

Beat together butter, brown and white sugars until fluffy. Beat in eggs, one at a time; beat in vanilla. In separate bowl, whisk together, flour, baking soda, cinnamon, salt and All Bran or flaxseed. Stir into butter mixture. Stir in chocolate chips and nuts, if using.

Drop by rounded tablespoonfuls about 2 inches apart. Flatten to 1/2 inch thickness. Bake for 9 minutes. Let cool on baking pan for 5 minutes, then cool on racks.

You can bake I/2 of the dough at a time if you want fresh cookies, refrigerating the other half of the dough for up to a week.
