3/4 c. sugar
2 c. butter
1 egg (unbeatten)
1 egg yolk
1 tsp. vanilla
2/3 c. flour
1/4 c. cocoa
2 tsp. baking powder
1/4 tsp. salt
1/4 c. pecans (chopped)
Topping:
1 egg whtie
1/4 tsp. cream tartar
1/4 c. sugar
1/4 c. pecans (chopped)

Directions:
Directions:
Cream butter and sugar; add the whole egg and the egg yolk
Add vanilla and beat well
Sift ingredients together and add to the creamed mixture
Add nuts, spread in well greased 8x8 inch pan
Beat the egg white and cream of tartar until foamy, gradually add the sugar and beat until mixture stands in stiff peaks
Fold the chopped nuts into the meringue, spread over batter
Bake in pre heated over 350ºf for 30 o 35 min
