1 lb. meat (I usually use lean ground beef, but you can also use ground pork, or a cheap cut of pork or beef, cut into 1 inch pieces)
1 tbsp. vegetable oil
1 large onion, chopped in medium dice
2 cloves garlic, minced
1 28 oz. can diced tomatoes
1 5 oz. can tomato paste
2 cans beans, at least one of which is red kidney beans, drained and rinsed
1 can beans with pork (optional)
1 tar 2 bsp. chili powder (to taste)
1-1/2 tsp. cumin
Pinch cinnamon (optional)
1 or 2 tbsp. Mrs. Renfro's jalapeno salsa (to taste)
2 bay leaves
1-1/2 c. water

Directions:
In large pot or Dutch oven, brown meat over medium high heat, with 1 tbsp. vegetable oil. Add onion and garlic and cook until softened. Add remaining ingredients and 1-1/2 c. water; bring to boil, reduce heat to low and simmer for 1/2 -1 hour. Adjust seasonings to taste.
