1 cup Crisco shortening
2 cups brown sugar, tightly packed in cup
2 eggs
1/2 cup milk
3 1/2 cups sifted all purpose flour
1 tsp baking soda
1 tsp salt
1 tsp nutmeg
1 tsp cinnamon
2 1/2 cups seedless raisins
1 1/4 cups of chopped walnuts
Directions:
Directions:
Cream first three ingredients well. Add milk then sifted dry ingredients. Add raisins and nuts at the end. Place, by spoonfuls, on lightly greased baking sheets. Bake in a 400º oven for eight to ten minutes. Remove to racks to cool. Makes six dozen cookies.
