Ingredients:
2 pkg. dried yeast (Red Star)
1 cup lukewarm water
1 pint scalded milk
3 tsp. salt
3/4 cup sugar
2/3 cup of shortening
2 eggs
about 8 cups of flour

Directions:
Directions:
Put your warm water and yeast in to work, add a little bit of sugar with that. Add your scalded milk and shortening together until shortening melts. Mix with the yeast. Add rest of ingredients. Add flour one cup at a time and knead. When dough becomes sort of sticky but will not stick to your hands, put on floured surface and grease bowl with shortening. Put dough back in bowl and let double in size.

Make into buns, put in pans and let rise.

Bake at 350º for about 17 - 20 minutes. Just until they are nicely browned and tap the top and sound hollow.

Personal Notes:
Grandma made these all the time. Were the best buns. Practice making them makes them even better.
