"As viscous as motor oil swirled in a swamp, redolent of burnt bell peppers nested in by incontinent mice and a finish reminiscent of the dregs of a stale can of Coca-Cola that someone has been using as an ashtray. Not a bad drink, though."--Excerpt from "The Moose Turd Wine Tasting" by T. A. Nonymous

Ingredients:
3 eggs well beaten
3 1/2 cups flour
1 1/4 cup sugar
1/2 cup sweet cream
1 cup buttermilk
1 tsp. soda
1 tsp. baking powder
1 tsp. salt
Vanilla

Directions:
Directions:
Mix all ingredients in order given. While mixing the dough get you kettle with hot oil in it for frying the doughnuts. Grandma Lee use to use lard but I have used vegetable oil. Get the oil about 350º. Put dough into doughnut maker and drop a doughnut into hot oil. Try one at first and then you tell just how long to cook. Have a cake pan with paper toweling lined to put doughnuts on edge to drain the oil off of.

To make rolled out doughnuts use 5 1/2 cups of flour. Have to have a doughnut cutter and cook the same way the above doughnuts are cooked.

Personal Notes:
Personal Notes:
When Grandma was making these and grandkids and sons-in-law were around, she could not make them fast enough. They kept disappearing.
