1 1/2 c. egg whites
1/4 tsp. salt
1 tsp. lemon juice
2 level tsp. cream of tartar
1 1/3 c. sugar, sifted
1 c. flour, sifted 5 times
1/2 tsp. vanilla

Directions:
Directions:
Add salt to egg whites; beat until it begins to foam. Add lemon juice; beat until it foams really well. Add cream of tartar; beat until eggs stand firm, but not dry. Add sugar gradually. Fold in flour. Add vanilla. Bake in ungreased pan at 325º for 1 hour.
