Ingredients:
Ingredients:
3-4 medium potatoes
1 stick butter
1 sm.can Carnation milk
salt and pepper to taste

Directions:
Directions:
Granny only used "white potatoes", about 3 or 4. She boiled them until tender, but not soupy. Added about 1/2 stick of butter, and mashed them very well, then add the other half stick of butter. She used a whole can of cream "Carnation". She added a little at a time until the potatoes were nice and smooth, then added a little more cream. Then the fun began! She would "whip" those potatoes until they stood up and paid attention! Then she added salt and pepper to taste as she went along.

Personal Notes:
This is one of the special recipes that Keith's mama sent me when I asked her to write down a few family recipes for my book. What I got in the mail was "priceless"!! She hand wrote, not only recipes, but the story of how Granny cooked for her family. Keith's granny was Mineola Best-Pixley. I have typed each of these recipes just as Moms wrote them. Reading them was just like being in her kitchen. Although I never got to meet Granny Pixley, I feel like I know her through the stories our family has told me through the years. She was a blessing to her family, and I feel privileged to share these recipes and stories with you. ~Michelle~
