Ingredients:
Ingredients:
1 c. butter
1 c. sugar
1 large egg
1 tsp vanilla
2 tsp baking powder
3 c. flour

Directions:
Directions:
Preheat oven to 400 F. In a large bowl, cream butter and sugar with electric mixer. Beat in egg and vanilla. Add baking powder and flour one cup at a time, mixing after each addition. The dough will be very stiff; blend last flour by hand. There is no need to chill dough. If making shapes, divide dough in half, and roll each ball in a circle approx 12” in diameter and 1/8” thick. If cookie stamps, spray the stamp with cooking spray and squish into a tblsp filled ball of dough on an ungreased cookie sheet. Cook for 4-5 minutes for shapes and 8-10 minutes for stamps as they are thicker. Delicious!!

Personal Notes:
Personal Notes:
This is my favorite and now the only recipe I use for making any cookie shape. If you use cookie stamps or cookie cutters, this will be the only recipe you use because it is delicious, and keeps the shapes so well for cookies. From Wilton’s Yearbook of Cake decorating.
