Ingredients:  
• 1 cup (2 sticks) butter or shortening
• 1 cup light brown sugar
• 1 cup granulated sugar
• 2 eggs
• 3 cups old-fashioned oats (not quick-cooking)
• 1 tsp vanilla
• 1 ½ cups all purpose flour (sift before measuring)
• 1 tsp baking soda
• 1 tsp salt
• 1 cup chopped pecans
• 1 cup golden raisins

Preheat oven to 350ºF. Blend butter (or shortening) and sugars together. Add eggs and vanilla, mix well. Add oats. Sift dry ingredients together, then add to mixture. Mix well. Add nuts and raisins and mix. On a thin, greased cookie sheet, drop by tablespoon. Bake 15-20 minutes (or until browned).
