"The tradition of Italian cooking is that of the matriarch. This is the cooking of grandma. She didn't waste time thinking too much about the celery. She got the best celery she could and then she dealt with it."--Mario Batali

2 tbsp Grand Mariner
2 tbsp Amaretto

1/2 cup flour
1/2 tsp cinnamon
1/2 tsp. nutmeg

Directions:
Directions:
Spread evenly into an 8 x 8 pan the sliced apples. Spring Lemon Juice Grand Mariner and Amaretto 1/4 cup brown sugar and 1/2 tsp cinnamon over the apples. Mix together the topping ingredients and spread evenly over the apples. Bake at 375 F for 40 minutes.

You can make this without the liquor and you could just use one or whatever you have on hand.

In order to make a good topping the butter has to be cold, you can work it together by using your clean hands. Make it so it is crumbly and it will cook nicely on top of the Apples.
