1 cup butter
1/2 cup shortening
3 cups sugar
5 eggs
3 cups flour
1/2 tsp. baking powder
1 cup milk
1 tsp. each rum, coconut, lemon, vanilla & almond flavorings (if you don't have 1, use more of a different one, or use any flavors you want)

Glaze:
1 cup water
1 cup sugar
1 tsp. each rum, coconut, lemon, vanilla & almond flavorings

Variation:
1 tsp. each butter, coconut, lemon, vanilla & almond flavorings

Directions:
Directions:
Cream butter, shortening and sugar until light and fluffy. Add eggs one at a time, mix well. Combine flour and baking powder and add to creamed mixture alternately with milk. Stir in flavorings. Pour into greased and floured tube pan and bake @ 325º for 1 1/2 hours or until tests done.

Glaze:
Combine all ingredients. Bring to a boil, stir to dissolve sugar. Pour over hot cake in pan. Let cake remain in pan until completely cold.
