1 1/2 Cups Flour
1/2 Unsweetened Cocoa Powder
1/2 Cup Butter or Margarine
1 Cup Sugar
1/4 tsp. Baking Powder
1/4 tsp. Baking Soda
1 Lg. Egg
1 1/2 tsps. Vanilla
1 10oz. Jar Maraschino Cherries (do not drain)
6 oz. Chocolate Chips (semi-sweet)
1/2 Cup Sweetened Condensed Milk (not evaporated)

Directions:

Combine flour and cocoa in a mixing bowl. Set aside. In another bowl beat butter on med-high speed for about 30 seconds or until smooth. Add sugar, baking powder and baking soda. Beat until well mixed. Add egg and vanilla and beat until mixed well. Gradually add the flour mixture.
Shape into 1 inch balls. Place on ungreased cookie sheet. Press down with your thumb in center of ball. Drain cherries now reserving the juice. Place a cherry in the center of each cookie. In a small saucepan combine the chocolate chips and sweetened condensed milk heat it just until chocolate melts. Stir in 4 Tbs. juice from cherries. Spoon about 1 teaspoon of frosting over each unbaked cookie. Make sure cherry is completely covered.
**Frosting can be thinned if needed by adding more cherry juice.**

Bake at 350 F for 8 min. or until done.
