2 c. sifted flour
4 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. salt
4 T. butter or shortening
3/4 c. milk

Directions:
Sift flour, measure 2 cups into a bowl, add salt, baking powder, cut in butter or shortening. gradually ad milk to make a soft dough. On a floured surface, roll dough to 1/2 in thickness, cut with biscuit cutter, place on baking sheet and bake at 425º for 15 minutes.

This can be made with buttermilk. Grandma's recipe was taken from an old Watkins Cookbook printed prior to 1940.
