1 cup sugar
1/2 cup soft butter
1 cup unbleached flour
1 teaspoon baking powder
1/2 cup milk
Pinch salt
2 large eggs
24 halves of pitted plums
1 teaspoon cinnamon

Topping:
1 teaspoon sugar
1 teaspoon cinnamon
Lemon juice

Directions:
Directions:
Cream sugar and butter. Add flour, baking powder, salt, and eggs. Beat well. Spoon batter into a greased 9" pan. Place plum halves, skin side up, on top of batter. (Press in just a little.) Sprinkle lightly with sugar/cinnamon mixture, and sprinkle a bit of lemon juice on top.

Bake at 350º for 45 to 60 minutes.

This is delicious served warm with ice cream.
