7 large or 8 medium eggs
2 2/3 c. sugar, divided
1 lb. butter, softened
3 1/2 c. all- purpose flour
1/2 cup heavy whipping cream
1 to 2 tsp. vanilla

Directions:
Directions:
Preheat oven 300º
1. Separate eggs (save egg yolks). Beat egg whites into stiff meringue (important), add 6 tbsp. of sugar. Place egg whites in refrigerator until needed.
2. Whip butter until creamy. Slowly add remaining sugar, beating until light and fluffy.
3. Add egg yolks, 1 to 2 at a time.
4. Add 1/3 flour, slowly add 1/2 of cream, and 1/3 more flour. Add remaining cream. Add remaining flour.
5. Fold in egg whites, and vanilla.
6. Pour in a greased tube pan and bake at 300º for 1 hour and 25 minutes.
