Duncan Hines white cake box mix
Follow the directions on the box, BUT
Substitute milk for the water
Add 1 tsp of vanilla
3 shots of tequila
3 limes, both the zest and the juice
Beer salt

When they are done baking, brush the tops with tequila and sprinkle with beer salt. Allow them to completely cool before frosting--at least one hour.

Frosting

3/4 cup room temp salted butter (3 sticks)
1/4 cup Crisco
3-4 cups powdered sugar (start with 3 and add to achieve consistency you like)
1/4 cup milk
3 shots tequila (check for taste preferences)
2 Tbsp lime juice
1 drop green food coloring (makes a very pal green, margarita color)

Cream the butter and Crisco together, slowly add in 3 cups powdered sugar. Add in the tequila, lime juice, and food coloring. Depending on how stiff you want your frosting, slowly add in the milk and the rest of the powdered sugar.

I usually chill the frosting before applying it to the cupcakes using a large star tip.
