2 c. bread crumbs - about 3 slices of bread
2 eggs - separate yolks from whites
1/2 c. sugar
1/4 c. cocoa
1/4 c. water
2 c. milk
1/8 tsp. salt
1 tsp. vanilla

Directions:
Directions:
Mix sugar and cocoa together first, then add water. Heat enough to dissolve sugar. Beat the egg yolks and add to milk. Add cocoa and sugar mixture to milk mixture. Add bread crumbs, salt and vanilla. Pour into a buttered baking dish. Bake at 350º for 35 to 40 minutes or until knife comes out clean. May be topped with Cool Whip or meringue. To make meringue, beat the egg whites, gradually adding 4 tsp. of sugar until egg whites are stiff. Then spread on top of pudding. Place in oven for 2 to 4 minutes until brown. (watch closely-it burns easily)
