4 c. day old bread
1/4 c butter
3 eggs
2 c milk
1/2 c white sugar
2 tsp vanilla
1/2 tsp cinnamon
1/2 tsp nutmeg
1 c. sliced very firm banana
Sauce:
3 Tbsp butter
2 Tbsp sugar
1 Tbsp cornstarch
3/4 c milk
1/4 c corn syrup
vanilla

Directions:
Directions:
Place bread cubes in greased 2 quart casserole. Pour butter over and toss to coat. Beat eggs lightly. Add milk, sugar, vanilla, cinnamon and nutmeg. Stir in banana. Pour over bread cubes and push down to cover
Bake uncovered at 375 degrees F for 40 minutes.
Sauce: Combine sugar and cornstarch. Add the butter. Stir in milk and corn syrup; cook over medium heat until mixture comes to full boil. Boil for 1 minute. Remove from heat. Stir in vanilla. Serve warm over warm pudding.
