salt, pepper, bay leaf, onion, 1 clove garlic and wine to cover.

Roux:
Crisco and flour

Cut up rabbit. Place rabbit and marinade in bowl. Cover with a plate and weight. Marinade overnight in fridge.
Put Crisco and flour in cast iron pot. Brown and make a very dark rue. (looks and smells almost burnt)
Add rabbit and cold water and wine mixture to cover and cook 1 ½ -2 hours. Thickens itself.
