3 c. warm water (not hot)
1 pkg. dry yeast
6 tbsp. sugar
1 tbsp salt
1 egg, beaten
3 tbsp. Crisco or shortening, softened
6 c. flour - sifted

Directions:
Directions:
Put yeast in warm water and let set for about 5 minutes (or until it bubbles up). Add 1 tbsp. sugar, 1 beaten egg and 1 tbsp. salt and mix well. Add shortening and mix well. Sift flour and add until right consistency for dough. Let rise double in size and work down. Form into rolls and let rise to top of pan. Bake in a 400º oven until lightly brown.
