Ingredients:
Ingredients:
1/2 C. unsalted butter
2 T. flour
1/4 C. water
1/2 C. brown sugar, packed
1/2 C. white sugar
8 Granny Smith apples (Peeled. Cored and Sliced)
1 recipe pie crust dough for 9" double crust pie or box Pillsbury ready crust

Directions:
Directions:
Preheat oven to 425º Melt butter in saucepan. When completely melted, stir in flour to form paste. Add water, white and brown sugar then mix and bring to a boil stirring constantly. Reduce heat and let simmer, stirring constantly. Prepare bottom crust and place in pie dish. Fill with apple slices, mounding slightly at center. Cut slices of dough from last pie crust to lattice. Place over apples and create lattice for top crust. ( If you are unfamiliar with the lattice crust process, go online or to a comprehensive cookbook for directions.) Pinch edges of top and bottom crusts together and flute edges. Pour sugar/butter syrup over crust. Pour slowly so mixture drains into crust openings and does not run off crust.

Bake 15 minutes in preheated 425º oven. Then reduce temperature to
350 º and continue baking for 35-45 minutes or until apples are soft.
