Notes: Grandma used to have these made for us when we came to visit and we solved a lot of the world's problems over coffee and kolaches at her dining room table. She used to make a not too sweet coffee cake and none of us could find the recipe after she passed away. Carey and I came to the conclusion that she made it from this recipe and instead of rolling it like a jelly roll, she just baked it on a cookie sheet and topped it with cinnamon and sugar. We all remember this coffee cake because she had it nearly every time we came to visit. Wonderful dipped in a nice hot cup of coffee with lots of old stories and great conversation. Grandma was very special to us all.
