1 pkg. yeast
2 c. lukewarm water
1 T. sugar
1 T. salt
6-7 cups flour

Directions:
Directions:
Dissolve yeast in water. Mix sugar with flour, then add salt. Gradually add yeast mixture and mix with electric mixer to make a fairly stiff dough. Turn out on board and knead by hand until smooth. Cover and let rise till double in bulk. Turn out on floured board and shape into long, thin loaves. Put on cookie sheet heavily sprinkled with corn meal and let rise 5 minutes. Slash tops of loaves diagonally 3-4 times. Brush with cold water. Place in cold oven and turn temperature to 400. Place pan of cold water on bottom shelf. Bake 35-40 minutes.
