1 c sugar
3/4 c butter
1/4 c molasses
1 egg
2 c all purpose flour
2 tsp baking soda
1 T ginger
1 tsp cinnamon
1/4 tsp salt
1/4 tsp cloves

1/2 c sugar for outsides

Directions:
Directions:
Heat oven to 375º
Mix sugar, butter, molasses and egg in large bowl..
combine remaining ingredients - except for 1/2 c sugar - and add to first mixture - mix well
shape dough into balls (1 T) coat with sugar & place on uncreated baking sheet, flatten slightly,
Bake 6 - 8 min. until golden brown 3 dozen
