3 squares unsweetened chocolate
2 1/2 C. cold milk
4 T. sifted flour
1 C. sugar
1/2 tsp. salt
4 egg yolks
2 T. butter
1 tsp. vanilla
1 baked 9" pie shell
Meringue:
4 egg whites
8 T. sugar

Directions:
Directions:
Add cut up chocolate to milk and heat until chocolate is melted. Combine flour, sugar and salt and add to slightly beaten egg yolks. Pour small amount of chocolate mixture over egg mixture stirring vigorously. Return to pan and cook until thick. Stir fast to smooth out. Add butter and vanilla. Let cool while you make meringue. Pour cooled filling into baked pie shell
Meringue:
Whisk in electric mixer 4 egg whites until foamy. Gradually add 8 T. sugar and continue whisking until stiff peaks form. Spread meringue over chocolate filling in pie shell and bake in 300º oven until lightly browned. Let cool completely to set.
