2 sticks softened butter
1 cup packed brown sugar
1/2 cup granulated sugar
2 eggs
1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
1 teaspoon vanilla
1 teaspoon baking soda
1 teaspoon vanilla
8 cups Quaker Oats oatmeal (uncooked and not instant oatmeal)
1 cup raisins or chopped pecans (optional)

Directions:
Directions:
1. Heat oven to 350º.
2. Beat butter and sugar until creamy.
3. Add eggs and vanilla, and beat well.
4. Add flour, baking soda, cinnamon and salt.
5. Stir in oatmeal, pecans or raisins.
6. Drop by rounded teaspoon onto ungreased cookie sheet.
7. Bake for 10 to 12 minutes in a 350º oven.
8. Makes approximately four dozen.
