Tomatoes--enough to make 2 quarts when cut up
1 c. water
6 cloves
1 onion sliced
1 tbsp. salt
2 tbsp. sugar
1/2 tsp. pepper
2 tbsp. lemon juice
2 tbsp. vinegar

Directions:
Directions:
Remove blemishes and tough stem ends from enough tomatoes to make 2 quarts when cut into pieces. Do not peal the tomatoes. Add 1 cup water, six cloves, one onion sliced, one tbsp. salt, 2 tbsp. sugar and 1/2 tsp. pepper. Simmer 45 minutes. Remove and cool. Force through a strainer, add 2 tbsp. lemon juice and 2 tbsp. vinegar, heat to boiling and boil five minutes. Pour into jar or pitcher and refrigerate.
