3 c. all-purpose flour
1 1/2 c. warm milk
2 t. baking powder
1 t. salt
1 tbsp. oil
Vegetable oil for deep frying

Directions:
Stir together flour, milk, baking powder and salt in a large bowl. Knead until smooth on lightly floured surface. Rub a little oil over dough. Cover; let sit 30 minutes. Pull off 10 to 12 equal pieces of dough; pat or roll out dough on lightly floured surface to form 8-inch circles. Heat 2 inches of oil in Dutch oven, heavy kettle or deep fat fryer to 380º. Drop 1 to 2 pieces of dough at a time into hot oil, gently keeping immersed with tongs until golden and crisp, about 2 minutes each side. Remove with slotted spoon; drain on paper towels. Keep warm in 200º oven.
