1 cup (2 cubes) butter or margarine
1-1/2 cups sugar
4 eggs
1 tsp almond extract
2 cups flour
2 tsp baking powder
1 can (21 oz) cherry pie filling
Powdered sugar, for dusting

Directions:
Directions:
Cream butter & sugar. Add eggs. Beat till fluffy. Add almond extract. Stir in flour and baking powder. Mix till smooth. Grease 13 x 9 pan. Spread in pan. Spoon the pie filling in 16 spots, spacing 4 spoonfuls in each direction. Bake at 350 degrees for 45-50 minutes or till golden and cake tests done. Filling will sink into cake during baking. Dust with powdered sugar, if desired. Serve topped with whipped cream or vanilla ice cream.

Blueberry, blackberry or apple pie canned pie filling can be substituted in this recipe. What ever canned fruit filling you have available.
