3 cups brown sugar
6 tbsp. flour
3 cups milk
6 egg yolks
1/4 cup butter
2 tbsp. vanilla

Directions:
Directions:
Mix brown sugar, flour, and milk. Cook until it begins to thicken, beat egg yolks, add a about 1/2 cup of thickened liquid to egg yolks to temper then return to the thickened liquid and cook a little longer until thicker. Remove from heat add butter and vanilla and stir. place plastic wrap over top to keep skin from forming. Cool completely. Put in prebaked pie crust top with meringue and bake until golden brown.
