Ingredients:
Ingredients:
1 cup brown sugar
1 cup granulated sugar
Pinch of salt
3 cups flour
3 cups oatmeal
1 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. Vanilla

Rub together to make mealy (so they don’t stick together). Don’t add the baking soda or vanilla yet.

Add ¾ cup hot water with baking soda and vanilla.
Chill.
Roll thin and cut. Bake at 375 degrees.
When cool, fill with date mixture.

Date mixture:
2 lbs. dates, cut-up – use bulk dates, if possible.
½ cup sugar
2 cups water

Cook until thick. Need to stir often because the mixture will stick to pot and it burns easily!
