2 1/4 c. flour
1 t. soda
1 t. salt
1 c. Crisco shortening
3/4 c. sugar
3/4 c. brown sugar
1 t. vanilla
2 large eggs
2 c. chocolate chips

Directions:
Directions:
1. Preheat oven to 375 degrees. Whisk together flour, soda and salt.
2. Cream together (standing mixer is easiest) shortening and sugars until completely combined and fluffy. Add vanilla and mix. Add eggs one at a time.
3. Add flour mixture and mix well.
4. Stir in chocolate chips. Bake about 10 minutes or until golden brown.

This is the original recipe except that I always use shortening. It produces the perfect cookie - not too stiff and not to soft. Store cookies in plastic container with a slice of bread. Replace bread if it gets hard - if the cookies last that long!
