4 tbsp. unsalted butter
1/2 c. dark brown sugar
1 tsp. cinnamon
1/2 tsp. nutmeg
4 firm bananas, sliced in half lengthwise
3 tbsp. fresh lemon juice (1 lemon)
1/2 c. banana liqueur
1/2 c. dark rum or brandy

Directions:
Melt butter in heavy skillet. Add sugar and spices, stirring until sugar is completely melted. Add bananas and cook until they are hot and well coated with syrup, not mushy. Carefully pour in liqueur and rum. If the butter is very hot the bananas will flame. If not, with long match, flame liqueur in pan and cook until flame dies. Add lemon juice and stir. Serve over ice cream.
