Ingredients:
Four bags of cranberries, or more if you’re ambitious
Sugar, amount TBD after you have cooked the fresh cranberries

Directions:
Directions:
Rinse and sort (discard stone hard berries as well as mushy ones). Measure into large pan. For each four cups of berries add one cup of water. Cook at slow boil until skins pop.

Press berries thru a sturdy sieve (blending in a food processor is acceptable but frowned upon). This is known as the Aunt Posie option.

For each cup of sieved or blended berry inards, add one-half cup of sugar.

Cook on low heat (just above a simmer) until mixture starts to thicken, stirring periodically. Put hot cranberry sauce into previously cleaned jars and seal while hot.

Store in refrigerator until kids start showing up for holiday meals.

The author makes no claims as to authenticity of this recipe as his mother has repeatedly refused his entreaties to demonstrate the efficacy of these methods first hand.
