½ cup sugar
1 t nutmeg
½ t cinnamon
1/8 t salt
4 large cooking apples
5 T butter

Directions:
Directions:
Combine the sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg, and salt in a small bowl. Wash, core, peel and slice the apples into ½ inch thick slices. Heat the butter in a large frying pan. Add the apple rings and half of the sugar mixture. Cook for about three minutes. Turn and add the remainder of the sugar. Cook until the apples are almost transparent, but not mushy or breaking up.
