1 c butter
2 c brown sugar, well packed
1 c chopped nuts
3 1/2 c flour
1/2 t salt
1 t soda
1 t vanilla
2 eggs

Directions:
Directions:
Cream butter and sugar. Add beaten eggs and mix well. Sift salt and soda with flour, add nuts, then mix with the first mixture. Add vanilla. The mixture will be very stiff. Roll out ino round rolls, wrap in wax paper and place in the refrigerator over night. When ready to bake, place roll on floured board, slice very thin, bake at 350º until light brown and crisp. This makes about 5 dozen. There is no baking powder. The soda is used to correct acid in grown sugar. If white sugar is used leave out the soda and add 1 t baking powder.
